Welcome to my blog.
The latest, greatest Kyle initiative has been... well... initiated! KYLE ART RULES...MONDAYS DROOL! Mondays are a bore no more! Every week, I pledge to rock your monday mornings with a brand new kyleart piece of art. It could be a new painting, desktop wallpaper, tshirt designs, a video of me doing a jig.... who knows? As long as it could be loosely argued as visual art... that's what you're going to get.
------------------------------------
This is from week ten of the paintings. Week eleven is still happening. Don't worry, just let the flow go.
This piece was commissioned by a jedi knight named Riley Bander (or so she says). Apparently Jedi Knights have really cute cats.

SKETCH ONE
"they look sorta creepy. my jedi cats are much more fun and cuddly."

SKETCH TWO
"Jedi cats. Do. Not. Arm Wrestle."

SKETCH THREE

SKETCH FOUR
"either three or four works for me. surprise me."
"Griffin & Chloe: Awwww"12" x 9" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back

"Miss Atlas"12" x 12" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
SOLDEver feel like you've got the weight of the world on your shoulders? Well, Miss Atlas, the super-strong heroine, actually does. She does her best to take your burdens away, and does it with a polite demeanor. Just don't call her Mrs. Atlas... that's when she gets de-mean-er.

Allright. so originally WEEK ELEVEN was going to be superheroes AND video games... well, truth be told... the superheroes are fun, and the video game sketches started coming out contirved... so it is going to JUST be super heroes. here's a little about why:
One of the biggest influences on my life and in my artistic style is the world of comic books and the treasures of super heroes found within. Comic books entered my life at an early age, and immediately clicked with my desire for adventure, fun, women, and the feelings of success.
So if you are modernly geeky like I am. I hope you enjoy the next five paintings as much as I will enjoy painting them. For everyone else... I don't understand why you aren't geeky.... it is so much fun.
"Koala's Alter Ego"12" x 12" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
SOLDKoala by day... something else by knight.
Fueled by recent injustices by the wombat clan, Koala has decided to take matters into his own hand. A brand of vengeance that can only be brought by a marsupial.
Look out, outback. Koala's Alter Ego is here to stay.

"Flight"
11" x 14" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
SOLD
(location: New York)
If I could choose any one super power, this would be it. (Or reading minds) How amazing would it be to just lift off the ground, fly away, look back and get real perspective on life... then realize it doesn't really matter and just fly to europe or egypt or china or the bahamas.
If anyone out there actually has the power of flight... teach me how! I will totally paint a painting for you or something. And I won't give away the secret.

"mmm Cola"
8" x 10" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
Have you ever noticed how sexy a bottle of soda can be? Let's just say the designers behind it weren't only thinking about the ergonomics of the hand-holding of the bottle.

"Marilyn"

"Robby the Robot and Nosferatu Go Out For Drinks"
12" x 12" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
Odd bedfellows they are, yes. But the enemy of your enemy is as they say... your drinking buddy.
Note: Even though this painting depicts them in the very same room... these fictional characters have never been granted the joy of hanging out together. Robby the Robot starred in the Forbidden Planet owned by MGM. Count Orlok starred in Nosferatu... and is now in the public domain! Which leads me to the animated musical... Nosferatu takes Robby the Robot to the Other Forbidden Planet, Paris. Starring the voices of Cheech and Chong.

"Franken-Kitty"
8" x 11" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
SOLD
(location: California)
Did you really think that Dr. Frankenstein started out with working on humans? Don't scientists start smaller with lab animals? Well, good thing (really?) that his dear Muffles the Cat died while he was researching the power of reanimation. This experiment worked flawlessly, and thus, was not dramatically interesting enough of a subject for Mary Shelley to write about -- thus why Franken-Kitty has been forgotten to the woes of history.
Until now, when I have re-animated him in his very own Kyle Daily Painting.
and here is a detail of the painting:

"Robo-Monkey"
8" x 8" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
SOLD
(location: New York)
The future is here. Soon, we will all have our very own robotic simian. Robo-Monkey does your laundry, cleans your room, cuts julian fries, and throws nuts and bolts at you.

The Kyle Daily Paintings are back in action!
I frantically unpacked the last boxes from my move this morning and quickly began painting today's painting.
This week (week Eight) I explore MONSTERS! and ROBOTS! yay!
Whether they are horrifying us, making us feel small and helpless, or enstirring us with excitement for future possibilities... monsters and robots help us explore the furthest reaches of our imaginations. Take a walk with me down Kyle-Imagination Lane. It was going to be a Circle, but that is reductive, and it is definitely longer than a Court. I just think that Lane fills it with character. Or Way. It could also be Kyle-Imagination Way.
right. monsters. and robots.

"Gunthera"
12" x 12" x 1.5", oil on canvas, all sides are painted, signed on back
SOLD
(location: New York)
Gunthera is the cousin of Godzilla. He is obviously still of the large and green and lumbering family of monsters.
Here, he is attacking New York City with his lighting breath. Or he is using New York as a homebase while he attacks New Jersey, or gasp... my home in Williamsburg.
